Why 'GoodFellas' Still Kills, 20 Years Later

One of my favorite movies of all time.

Hard to believe, but 'GoodFellas' wasn't the instant classic it seems like today.

Before its release 20 years ago, on Sept. 19, 1990, Martin Scorsese's mob epic screened disastrously for test audiences. Some viewers walked out after the intense first 10 minutes, while some who remained were irritated by the rapid, cocaine-addict's-eye-view editing of the long climactic sequence of Henry Hill's (Ray Liotta) last day as a mobster. The ratings board found the film too bloody even for an R rating until Scorsese trimmed 10 shots.

20 years later, however, 'GoodFellas' is acknowledged as a masterpiece, arguably the best film of both the '90s and Scorsese's legendary career. Its influence over other movies and TV shows, and not just in the crime genre, is hard to overstate. Yet watching it again today, it still feels fresh, a sustained, 2-1/2 hour rush of outlaw energy. Here's why 'GoodFellas' has been so important over the last two decades, and why it still retains the force of that first explosive test screening.

Inside Leo's Inception

Inception was a awesome Movie .. it really likes messes with your mind dude. Read what I just typed as if you was high it makes complete sense. I was surprise that grand concourse understood the film ( If you live in the bronx You will get what I mean). I think my interest in Leonardo DiCaprio has came back , Stutter Island now this. Good Work

HSM3

Well tomorrow hopefully I will be going to the movies to see hsm 3 ,now I know many would find that funny but hey it's a gulity pleasure so I can't help it lol.I saw the first two might as well see this one.Now at one point I used to like zac efron (don't ask)I know some considered him kind of ugly I guess but I seen worse believe me.Well don't worry because I don't like him anymore,zac and vanessa do get on my nerves though. So anyway thought I share that with you all *rolls eyes*

The Dark Knight

I saw it yesterday and that movie is GOOD ..one of the best movies of 2008 and maybe the best batman movie ..I still love the Originals but this new one came on top.The movie Theater was packed and this was in the Morning time I mean if you can get black people to wake up early you doing something right LOL...But even if you not into batman or action movies in general you should still check it out .

Where Have I been?

I almost forgot I have a blog ...I haven't been updating ...been busy .I went to the movies today to see kungfu panda with the kiddies lol get smart and the love guru I heard was trash but I really want to see hancock .Don't you love will smith movies ..as i'm typing this the fresh prince of bel air is on right now lol..Well anyway I'll update later i'm going to bed
